The American Heart Association® Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of hospital. The course covers extensive material in a short time period, thus you will need to study and prepare for the course beforehand.

ECG/Rhythm Interpretation and Pharmacology knowledge is expected and will not be taught in the ACLS program.

Classes are held several times a month on Sundays from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, pending instructor availability. You will be able to select a course date on the next page.


Course Prerequisites:

  • Initial/First Time Students: Current BLS certification (to obtain one, click BLS tab above), Mandatory Precourse Self-Assessment (information will be provided in email), and Online ACLS program (7 hours - information will be provided in email).

  • Renewal Students: Current BLS and ACLS certification, and Mandatory Precourse Self-Assessment (information will be provided in email).


Continuing Education Information (CEUs):
The ACLS course is approved by the American Heart Association and is accredited for 9.75 Advanced Continuing Education Hours (CEH) by the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE). Please let your instructor know on class day if you need a CEU certificate issued in addition to your ACLS certification card. There will be an additional $5.00 fee for the digital CEU certificate.


MANDATORY $50.00 COURSE DEPOSIT (Non-Transferable/Non-Refundable):
CPR Society spends great effort and energy to recruit ACLS instructors to dedicate their professional time to teach these advanced-level courses. As such, a $50.00 non-transferable/non-refundable course deposit is required to reserve your seat in the ACLS course. We recommend that you only schedule the course once you are absolutely certain that you will attend the class. The $50.00 deposit will be applied to your course fee. In the event that you do not attend your scheduled course, the $50.00 deposit will be lost and you will need to pay an additional $50.00 upon registering for the ACLS course again.

The initial ACLS course is divided into 2 parts:

  • Part 1: Online ACLS Program ($132.00) - 7 hours

  • Part 2: In-person hands-on class ($100.00) - 6 hours (Sunday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm)

The online course completion certificate must be brought on the Sunday class day as well as completion of the Mandatory Precourse Self-Assessment (information will be provided in email).

Additional course prerequisities:
A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be brought on class day. If you need to obtain that certification, simply click on the BLS tab above to enroll.

  • 2-year ACLS certification card will be provided at the end of class.

The ACLS Renewal/Update class is held Sundays from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

ACLS Renewal Course Prerequisites:

  • A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be brought on class day. If you need to obtain that certification, simply click on the BLS tab above to enroll. You must also bring your current ACLS certification to class.

  • Also complete the Mandatory Precourse Self-Assessment (information will be provided in email).

  • If you bring your own copy of the 2015 ACLS Provider Manual, a $30.00 credit will be applied to the class (price will be $170.00 instead of $200.00).

  • 2-year ACLS certification card will be provided at the end of class.
